2008-9-18 Most American enterprises plan to expand business
The Wall Street Journal reports, a survey made by the American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai Branch shows that although the American enterprises’ profit decline, most American enterprises still plan to expand their business in China. This passion led foreign direct investment increase nearly 500 billions U.S. dollars in China over the past 10 years.

However, this survey also pointed out that American companies are facing all kinds of challenges in China such as the competition from Chinese enterprises, consumer price pressure as well as the rising of human recourses-related cost.

Nevertheless, nearly one-third of the respondents said they are concerning about how to get high-quality stuff and how to keep them the most. They concern about this issue even more than the bureaucracy and the protection of intellectual property rights.
